This week Lions 2020 NFL Draft top choice was revealed. It seems like Detroit is more interested in Alabama’s quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
Bart Scott is the ESPN NFL analyst who came on the GetUp TV series this week. Scott said that there would be a chance that Lions will pick No. 3, i.e., Tagovailoa.
People are assuming that the Lions will find a defensive side of the ball too. As they already have Matthew Stafford, quarterback of the team.
Scott disagrees with the theory, and further, he said that Lions would move off Stafford somewhere else. He has the value, and he can quickly start fresh as a promising quarterback.
Scott said that they should understand that they had Mathew. They have already seen that what it looks like to have Stafford for 11 years. They are not going to win a Super Bowl with him. Scott also added that if they have a young head coach in this league. And they want to press the reset button then they can’t let a guy with arm talent and vision get off.
Tagovailoa is very talented and got a lot of success in college. But, still, there are questions on his durability. Moreover, from last year after his hip injury, he didn’t play a single match, and now season ends. His management team also said that they don’t know when Tagovailoa will get recover.
Lions will be careful before selecting Tagovailoa, but, it is not clear yet that the team is ready to take risks or not.
