Xiaomi Mi 6 received an update on Android 8.0 Oreo through MIUI 9.2.3 Global Stable ROM. The new MIUI version comes out as an over-the-air (OTA) release and is available as a download package. In April last year, Mi-6 was released with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Recently it received an MIUI beta release with Android Oreo.
MIUI 9.2.3 Global Stable ROM’s rollout for the Xiaomi Mi 6 on the MIUI official forum has been announced. In addition to revealing the new feature for Mi 6, you will be prompted to install the new MIUI version. You can check the availability of the MIUI 9.2.3 update on your Mi 6 by going to Settings> About Phone> Using System Updates or Updater App. It is recommended that you back up your data before starting the update process. Alternatively, you can download the update either, through Fastboot mode or Recovery ROM method. However, these methods will erase all the data on the phone.
Among the main features included within the MIUI 9.2.3 Global Stable ROM, there are some significant Android Oreo features, including Picture Picture (PP), Smart Autofill and February Android Security Patch. The update provides a redesign home page, update peach blossom, Asphalt themes, and offer a new animation for launching and closing apps. This includes optimizations for the preloaded dial pad, recent section, notification alerts, swipe gestures, and folders. Additionally, stop working in the background to troubleshoot issues related to applications that change the Wi-Fi connection state without user’s permission, WhatsApp Force load error in split-screen mode. You will get an app lock upgrade and ask your fingerprint first before you unlock.
