We already know that Oppo is launching its Oppo Reno 3 series in an event on December 26, 2019. Some of its specifications are known through its official teaser and some through the leaks. And now, a senior executive of Oppo has revealed that the Oppo Reno 3 Pro and Oppo Reno 3 smartphones will come up with a 360-degree surround antenna design for more reliable reception of the signal, to maintain the network stability irrespective of the way users hold the phone.
In addition, the Oppo Reno 3 was located on the AnTuTu database and is inclined to have MediaTek 6885 SoC.
In a Weibo post by Brian Shen, Vice President of Oppo revealed that the two smartphones would provide dual-mode 5G support (SA + NSA), will employ a 360-degree wraparound antenna design that can encompass nearly the whole frame of the phone to make sure that the phones have better signal reception. This is helpful when users need much stable and faster connectivity for operations such as playing demanding online games, video streaming, etc.
There are many concerns that are floating in the industry regarding the mmWave 5G network. In spite of offering huge speed gain, there can be a lot of disturbance by low range or poor signal penetration. That is why smartphone manufacturers will have to concentrate on the design of the antenna to make sure that the 5G mobiles do not suffer from network reception problems.
The image shared by Shen also informs that the way in which users are holding the phone may block the signals, but the uncovered area in the phone’s upper part will make sure that network reception will not be an issue.
Moreover, Oppo Reno 3 has made an impressive score of 379839 in the eponymous synthetic benchmark test. The phone was spotted to feature MediaTek MT6885 SoC, and as per a tipster, Digital Chat Station, it is a toned-down variant of the new MediaTek Dimensity 1000 SoC and will debut as the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L.
The Oppo Reno 3 powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L SoC has even beat the Samsung’s premium Exynos 980 SoC, and the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC. The tipster also specifies that the Oppo Reno 3 will feature a 64-megapixel sensor that is similar to the Oppo Reno 3 Pro, but it might not use a Sony sensor.
