Oppo A8 is the upcoming smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker, Oppo. The phone has been spotted on the Chinese regulatory website TENAA.
A poster displaying the phone popped up online and revealed the design of the phone and other details. The TENAA listing intimates that the successor of the Oppo A7 will see an update. The Oppo A7 was launched in November last year, so a successor should launch before the end of this year. The phone can be seen on the poster along with a new Oppo Reno 3, Oppo Reno 3 Pro, and Oppo A91 phone.
According to the listing on the TENAA website, the new Oppo smartphone is carrying model number PDBM00. The new phone is assumed to be Oppo A8. The listing also shows the phone running on Android Pie, and packed with a 6.5-inch HD (720×1600 pixels) TFT display. The phone is paired with 4GB RAM and powered by an unnamed 2.3GHz octa-core processor. Internal storage might be at 128GB with an option to further expand up to 256GB using a microSD card slot.
Oppo A8 is anticipated to pack a triple rear camera setup with an 8-megapixel camera, a 2-megapixel shooter, and one 12-megapixel sensor. Upfront, the phone also has an 8-megapixel selfie camera, and a Micro USB port is also included. The phone weighs 180 grams and measures 163.9×75.5×8.3mm. The Oppo A8 is listed to have a 4,230mAh battery and available in Red, White, Black, and Green colour options.
The images found on the TENAA listing show a waterdrop style notch on the Oppo A8, the triple rear camera can be seen at the back aligned vertically. A rear fingerprint sensor, a power button on the right edge of the screen, and the volume buttons on the left. Oppo A7 sport with the dual-camera setup, and a Snapdragon 450 SoC.
The leaked poster on Weibo repeats those same specifications and aesthetic design.
