Amazon launched Echo Auto in India today, a device that lets you add Amazon’s voice assistant Alexa to your car. The device can be powered by connecting it to the car’s charging socket, or you can also use the USB port. It can be connected to the car’s Stereo system via a 3.5mm auxiliary cable or a Bluetooth connection. Amazon launched Echo Auto at CES 2019 in Las Vegas, which was announced in September 2018.
Echo Auto has a total of 8 microphones, which means that it can hear the command voice even over the loud road noise. Once set up, the devices let you control things like make calls, play music, listen to audiobooks, etc.
With voice control through the Alexa app, you can make the Echo Auto, play music from Amazon Prime Music, Gaana, JioSaavn, and Apple Music. Also, you can ask Alexa to check your calendar, set reminders, look for nearby parking locations, and even drop in on compatible Echo devices at home.
India is only the second country where Echo Auto has launched apart from the US, where it was launched way back in 2018. After nearly one and a half years, it was launched in India.
Amazon Echo Auto is priced at Rs.4,999/- and is set to be available from January 15 in India. You can buy it from the official Amazon site or app. You can check for it here.
