After the launch of dedicated COVID-19 hub around the world now in India, Google is adding helpful resources in its apps and services. Now, the lockdown is extended to 3rd May in India so, this app will provide the correct information and get the important details.
“We have upped our work to curb misinformation across various platforms and prominently surface the latest updates and health advice from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and international health authorities across Search, Maps, YouTube and the COVID-19 Spot on Google Pay.”, wrote the company in a blog post.
As per the post, the website of the COVID-19 in India was launched in the last week. For phone calls, this website is available in English, Hindi, and Marathi languages, and to access by Google Assistant on KaiOs feature phones; it is available in English and Hindi language. Google may add different regional languages soon.
In Google Search, the users can easily see the combined results of their queries related to COVID-19 also with the different tabs related to information about symptoms, prevention, treatments, news, and statistics.
YouTube now has a dedicated COVID-19 news corner that gives the right content from authentic sources in the country. Earlier, YouTube made the news corner, which is available in 16 countries.
The company also talks about the night shelters and local restaurants, wh8ich has the delivery and takeout options on Google Maps. Google has covered more than 1,500 food and night shelters around the 33 cities till now.
Now, Google Pay has a feature named Nearby Spot, which has the list of all the local stores that are now open. Right now, it is live in Bengaluru, and after some time, it will expand in Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi. The donation section of Google Pay for the PM-CARES fund has collected a total of ₹105 crores.
Besides this, Google also made the COVID-19 Community Mobility Reports, which is available to help the public health officials to make an efficient decision related to the ongoing COVID-19.
