From now on, you can find Teacher Approved Apps on Google Play Store specially dedicated for kids. Google Play Store contains some best apps for all the age groups with different sections and recommendations to a specific application or game. Now Google came up with a new idea that is specially dedicated to kids keeping in view of their age group and other required information. The section that contains “Teacher Approved Apps” is added under the Family Section in Google Play Store, and the apps are labeled as “Teacher Approved” for Kids.
The basis for adding Teacher Approved Apps in Google Play App
In this crisis time, many parents are worried about the future of their children. Google decided to launch a teacher-approved apps section due to the crisis created by coronavirus pandemic, which left around 55.1 million students off their schools in just the United States. These students were not attending their private or public schools because of the subsequent closure of schools due to pandemic. The data is sourced from the National Center for Education Statistics. Some schools also provide distance learning to the children, but the parents feared that that type of education is not enough in these early ages, which would keep them far from actual learning.
Google said that many parents opined that they could not find kid-friendly apps that let them feel good and safe for their children. Although many teacher apps are available on Google Play Store, yet there is no specific teacher app that is considered safe for children. This is either due to the content in the app or due to the ads that are promoted in the app.
Keeping in view all this, Google officials consulted many teachers around the world seeking help and asking them to rate the apps that are dedicated to kids based on the content and other things required for kids. For this, more than 200 teachers from the U.S. came forward, extending their help in approving and rating the app with respect to the age groups. The age groups that are divided are 0 to 5 yrs, 6 to 8 yrs, and 9 to 12 yrs according to the content provided in the apps.
Now more than 1000 apps dedicated to kids with teacher-approved badges are there in Google Play. Also, with Google Play Pass, you can access 60 more teacher-approved apps from the closet. You can check the ratings given to the apps by teachers in the info. Section of the particular app. You can know the ratings and reviews given to the apps, and not only that, but you can also verify why those high ratings were given to those teacher-approved apps in Google Play. And the teacher-approved apps are not just for fun but for supplementary educational training to the kids during this crisis.
You can find the teacher-approved apps under the kids tab in your Google Play app, or you can also check the teacher approval badge on the specific app and get it for your kid(s). Also, as said before with Google Play Pass, you can access teacher-approved apps under the “Apps and Games for Kids” section.
The specially dedicated section for kids will begin rolling out in a couple of days from now in the U.S. and in the coming months for the rest of the world.
