Five peoples were shot dead at the Halloween party that has been organized in a rented house from Airbnb in Orinda. Regarding this, the Airbnb decided to take strict actions and stated that they will be banning the “Party Houses” from their platform.
According to the police, more than 100 peoples attended this party which had been advertised on various social media before Halloween. Around 10 pm, the police were called to handle the noises coming from the house but what greeted them was the chaos where the gun victims were shot dead and others were shouting and fleeing from the scene. Three were found dead on the spot and two were severely injured and unfortunately, were pronounced dead at the hospital.
The statement of Airbnb was announced by the CEO Brian Chesky on twitter where he posted a series of tweets in this concern.
“Starting today, we are banning “party houses” and we are redoubling our efforts to combat unauthorized parties and get rid of abusive host and guest conduct, including conduct that leads to the terrible events we saw in Orinda,” Said CEO Brian.
He tweeted about the new safety mechanism that they will be initiated in their structure soon. He disclosed that they will be expanding the manual screening of high-risk reservations, a dedicated team of “party house” rapid response team will also be created, and immediate action will be taken upon those who violate the enhanced guest policies.
Although the very definition of such a ban is not clear the Airbnb still has not elaborated much on it yet.
