The popular benchmarking platform, AnTuTu, for gauging the performance of SoCs, has unveiled the best mobile chips for the year 2019 based on metrics including technology innovation, raw performance, and cost-effectiveness. Proclaimed as part of the AnTuTu Awards 2019, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855+ SoC, took the honor for the best performing SoC.
MediaTek’s Helio G90T and Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 810 shared the award to be the highly cost-effective SoCs to crack the benchmarking platform in 2019. Contributions from Samsung, Qualcomm, Huawei, and MediaTek collectively shared the award for technological innovation.
The 2019 AnTuTu Awards for SoC excluded Apple’s in-house A-series SoCs, along with new offerings that include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 that have yet to appear on a commercially available device.
Snapdragon 855+ SoC from Qualcomm made its way to phones like the Samsung W20 5G and Realme X2 Pro, has won the AnTuTu Awards 2019: SoC for the best-performing SoC. The Snapdragon 855+ had an average score of 480,000, dropping behind other flagship silicon from Samsung, Huawei, and MediaTek.
Despite being restricted to only Honor and Huawei brand devices, Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 810 received the AnTuTu Awards in the category of cost-effectiveness with MediaTek Helio G90T SoC. The MediaTek contribution is targeted at affordable and gaming-centric phones. It has made its way to the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
AnTuTu, in the category of Technological Innovation, has crowned four winners from four separate chipmakers. Flagship HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G from Huawei shared the award with Snapdragon 765G from Qualcomm, MediaTek’s first 5G SoC – Dimensity 1000L, and Samsung’s own Exynos 980 that has made its way to the Oppo Reno 3 recently.
