Amazon Prime Video has recently announced launch dates for two upcoming movies in the Greta Gerwig’s star-studded coming-of-age period drama Little Women and Vicky Kaushal-starrer horror thriller Bhoot — Part One: The Haunted Ship. Both the movies are being added to the streaming service two months after their release in Indian theatres — Little Women was released on February 7, and Bhoot was a February 21 release.
Release Dates of Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship and Little Women on Amazon Prime Video
Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Bhoot — Part One: The Haunted Ship is based on a true story. It is expected to be the first entry in a planned franchise. And, it doesn’t have any connection to the Ram Gopal Varma series having the same name, which gave us two films—directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh, who moved into the space of horror movies for the first time with Bhoot Part one: The Haunted Ship. This film is also one of the most watchable movies of the Karan Johar Dharma productions company and Zee Studios.
Vicky Kaushal said in a prepared statement that “I was never a ‘horror-film friendly’ actor before doing Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship, and I was someone who would step out of the room if a horror film was on. Still, with this film, I was able to overcome my fear. With Bhoot, the effort has been to bring to the fans, a real experience of the category through an original horror film which is not just filled with thrills, but which is honestly scary. I am happy that many viewers across the globe can now stream the film and enjoy some edge-of-the-seat thrill from the comfort of their personal devices on Amazon Prime Video.”
Gerwig’s Little Women is the seventh adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s 1868 novel bearing the same name. It stars Saoirse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, Emma Watson, Eliza Scanlen, Florence Pugh, Laura Dern, and Meryl Streep, among others. Though it released earlier in the United States, Little Women arrives on streaming before India because of Amazon’s ongoing deal with Sony Pictures India, which has previously given us Zombieland: Double Tap and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Bhoot — Part One: The Haunted Ship will be out on April 22 on Prime Video worldwide. Little Women will be out on April 26 on Prime Video in India. Both films are available with Hindi- and English language audio, respectively, as those were the only theatrical version of the film.
