Chhapaak is ready to release on the digital screens on Hotstar VIP. The film is a true story based on a real-life acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal which got released on January 10th, 2020. Chhapaak tells the story about a girl from a respectful background who was attacked with acid and survived that incident. This movie is directed by Meghana Gulzar and produced by Fox Star Studios and stars Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey in the lead roles.
The movie was allowed to release without taxes in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. It received a positive response from critics.
Deepika Padukone played as Malti, Vikrant Massey as Amol, Madhurjeet Sarghi as Archana Bajaj, and Anand Tiwari as a Bajaj’s husband. The movie highlights the trials and achievements of Malti, an acid attack survivor who was attacked in 2005 at the age of 15. She was attacked by a 32-year-old man, Nadeem khan, whom Malti had rejected earlier. From the investigation of the acid attack to the court activities, from medical treatment to emotional healing, the film exhibited the power of the human soul.

Chhappak makes its digital premiere on Hotstar VIP, which is expected to release on on March 6th, 2020, but now its release preponed and got released on February 16th, 2020. The movie was shot at an estimated budget of Rs.40 crore, and the team expected the box office collection would be a hit. The movie got a gross collection of Rs.40.57 crore in India, Rs.14.87 crore overseas, and the worldwide film collection was Rs.55.44 crore.
The critics gave a positive review, but still, the film was rated 4.3 out of 10, and IMDb rated 4.8 out of 10.
