The Tamil action thriller Dhanush’s Pattas is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The movie was released on Jan 15, 2020, coinciding with the Pongal Festival. The story revolves around the ancient Tamil martial arts technique called Adimurai. R.S. Durai Senthilkumar directs Pattas, and the production company for this film is Sathya Jyothi Films. This film stars Dhanush, Mehreen Pirzada, and Sneha in the lead roles while Naveen Chandra played as the antagonist, and Naser and Munishkanth Sathish played in the supporting characters.
Vivek Mervin composed the movie’s music score. This movie album contains seven tracks, and the title track “chill bro,” which is sung by himself and Dhilip Subramanyam, choreographed the stunts. The film’s first view poster was released on Dhanush’s Birthday, i.e., Jul 28, 2019.
Pattas Plot
Dhanush is playing a dual role in this movie as father and Son. The part featuring Dhanush as Thiraviyaperumal(father) and Sneha as his wife Kanyakumari and Dhanush’s partner for his son’s role – Sakthi – is played by Mehreen Pirzada. Sneha(Kanyakumari) and her Son Sakthi are specialist practitioners of the martial arts. Sneha is arrested on charges of killing her attacker, and she is separated from her son(trap). Dhanush(Sakthi) grows up to perform minor crimes, but still, he manages to be an expert in martial arts. The rest of the story is about how mother and son got reunited and how they took revenge on the antagonist Naveen Chandra( Nilan).
The times of India rated 2.5 out of 5 stars for action and drama, and Behindwoods rated 2.75 out of 5 stars saying, “Pattas is a good entertainer and has good performance that highlights the martial arts.” India Today rated 2 out of 5 stars announcing that director Durai Senthil Kumar’s Pattas deals with the highly predictable story that is a mixup of drama. India Glitz Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars announcing Dhanush is the champion of this mass entertainer.
