Samsung is once again released the security update of January 2020 for Galaxy A50 and Galaxy Tab S5e in December, earlier than the usual time. The January Android security patch is available for Galaxy A50 and Galaxy Tab S5e in some markets already. The A50 update is now out in Russia and comes with the software version A505FNPUU3ASL6. The update for the Tab S5e is now available in Brazil, Colombia, Panama, Bolivia, and Chile. It has the build number as T725XXS1ASL2.
The January security patch update is not the first time for Galaxy devices. Recently we got the Android Beta updates for Galaxy S9, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy Note 10. These updates include security patch updates as well. But, this new update for the two devices has been rolled out for devices running on Android Pie. Until now we don’t have enough information on what security issues have been fixed in this new update. We will be able to know about these only after the passing of a few days.
It is also not clear as to what security updates have been added additionally to the general security patch update. The sixth letter from the last is “U” in the software version of A50 instead of the usual “S”. This letter indicates a lot more could be there in this security patch. As of now, we do not know what that letter”U” means. If you got that update then you can let us know about what kind of security features this update has in it.
If you can’t find the update automatically on your update suggestion then you can also navigate to the Settings>Software update and tap download and install to get the new security patch on your Galaxy A50 or Galaxy Tab S5e. Do let us know what improvements have been made in this new security update through the comments section below.
