Google Assistant is now taking forward a step to the next level with its ability to use voice to authorize payments. This new feature will make your shopping experience using Google Assistant seamless. The Voice Match feature will enable you to confirm using your voice.
All you need to do is add a delivery address and payment method for one time. When you choose Google Assistant as a payment option, it automatically takes the pre-loaded details. To make your payments secure, an additional security option on the smart Assistant device, “verify it’s you before paying.” When you turn on this toggle, before making payment, you will receive a prompt on your phone to authorize via face or fingerprint unlock.
Android Police spotted this new “Confirm with Voice Match” option in the Payments menu from Assistant settings. However, this is a limited pilot feature that Google is trying on the smart device. You can turn ON and OFF this feature anytime.
Google support provided you a detailed description of how to shop and make payment through Google Assistant. Last month Google added a voice recognition system for something as crucial as payments.
There are many ways to go to Assistant payments and security pane. Here is one method, head to Google app -> More -> Settings -> Google Assistant -> You -> Payments and there you will see an option “Confirm with Voice Match.” This option will be disabled by default, and it will add Google account password confirmation when you enable this.
The feature seems to be useful, but we are not sure how foolproof this feature is. It might not be that difficult to fool the Assistant with a similar voice. For your information, this feature is not yet available in India. We would probably hear more about it soon.
