Huawei P40 Pro, along with P40, are set to be launched in March 2020. Many leaks surrounding these phones have picked up their pace. The phones are rumored to come up with an outstanding camera.
Now Ming-Chi Kuo, TF securities analyst, said that the premium model of Huawei P40 Pro would support 10x optical zoom. He explains that Huawei will obtain this great feature by using two mirrors and a prism inside the camera of the Huawei P40 Pro.
To recall, the Huawei P30 Pro sport a 5x zoom lens, and that is because the camera integrated just a prism.
MacRumors and Huawei Central have received a note from famous analyst Kuo, offering the details of Huawei P40 Pro. He said that the phone would employ a redesigned periscope telephoto lens to integrate a 10x optical zoom lens, the first to be used in a smartphone.
He also stated that more phones would opt for this technology next year. Yet, he did not mention any other details that which phones are going to get the feature.
Kuo notes that the Huawei P40 Pro will integrate a newly designed 8-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with a large aperture of f/4.0. As mentioned before, the phone will hold both mirror and prism structures to obtain the extended field of view.
Kuo also says that the company will also integrate 5X optical periscope lens in other phones like Huawei P40, high-end Mate phones, high-end Honor phones, and high-end Nova phones.
The analyst mentions that the Huawei P40 series price ranges between CNY 4,000 to CNY 5,000 (approximately Rs. 40,500 to Rs. 50,700). He also says that the company has announced to target at around 9 million unit shipments of the 10x periscope zoom, and 28 million units of the 5x periscope zoom.
Lastly, Kuo says that a total shipment count of periscope lens would reach 37 million in 2020 compared to 9 million in 2019.
The Huawei P40 Pro is anticipated to feature a hole-punch display, about five rear cameras, and they will not come with any pre-installed Google apps and services.
