LG, the South Korean smartphone manufacturer, is now not as popular in India as it was some time back. But, some of the fans continue to buy the company’s high-end phones.
A significant range of smartphones from the company is its V-series. The V-series is famous for its camera and audio capabilities.
According to a report, LG is getting prepared to launch a new device in the V-series, the LG V60 ThinQ, at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2020. As per speculations, the device will be available with 5G connectivity and the capability to use LG’s Dual Screen accessory for two screens on the device.
A report is found on the Korea Herald that mentions an unnamed industry source. According to the report, the LG V60 ThinQ would be LG’s first smartphone for the year 2020, might feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC.
This smartphone will expand its presence in the 5G segment in key markets, which support the next-generation wireless technology, including Japan, South Korea, and the United States. The device will be unveiled at MWC 2020 in Barcelona, which is going to take place from February 24 to 27, 2020.
Not only the 5G connectivity but also the dual-screen functionality of the LG V60 ThinQ is the smartphone’s highlight. This is expected to be through the LG Dual Screen accessory. The phone will just have its primary screen, but connecting an accessory to the device, will add a second screen. The accessory is connected to the phone via USB Type-C, and it also functions as a cover for the phone.
The LG G8X ThinQ and Dual Screen accessory were launched recently in India, which are priced at Rs. 49,999. This device is available with a ‘free stop hinge’ to establish the second screen’s angle freely, while the LG V60 ThinQ and its Dual Screen accessory are touted to come with an improved hinge technology, according to the report.
LG also has a range of 5G-supported smartphones in several markets where the next-generation wireless network is already available.
