Oreo is on the roll as almost all smartphone makers are rolling out Android Oreo updates for its flagship devices amid the loud talks of Android P navigation. At the same time, mobile makers are busy updating their UIs with the latest Android version.
Amid the news of Redmi Note 4 getting MIUI 9.5 Global Stable update, the leak has emerged that suggests Oreo-based MIUI for Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. Believe it or not but those waiting for the global stable ROM need no patience now.
Redmi Note 5 Pro was launched with Android Nougat 7.1.1 in India a couple of months back. The phone has Snapdragon 636 system-on-chip, 5.9” display, dual camera and RAM in two variants, 4 and 6 GBs. After launching limited edition through flash sale, Xiaomi launched the same piece with Android Oreo in China. It was later revealed that the Chinese release was with the Android 8.1 Beta version.
The real news is about the Global Stable update. According to the tests and reviews, the new Oreo-Based ROM has far better features than the beta version released earlier. Especially the improvements regarding battery life are excellent. Besides, it is believed that the new MIUI will bring the iPhone X-like gestures as well. Alongside, Note 5 Pro users will find all the regular MIUI 9.5 features.
More importantly, the recent rolled-out update is Project Treble compatible. That means the UI can easily be updated with Android P as and when Google comes up. Besides, if you can always infuse LineageOS 15.1 or any other custom ROM if you do not like MIUI.
The custom ROM can only be updated after rooting the phone through TWRP recovery and the sad thing is the official app doesn’t have an official version of Redmi Note 5.
