Motorola Razr 2019 is the first-ever clamshell design foldable phone by Motorola. This Lenovo-owned company has teased the launch of the Razr 2019 in India via a tweet.
Last month, the Motorola Razr 2019 smartphone was globally launched. But it is going to hit the shore in January in the US. The foldable phone from Motorola will compete with the Huawei Mate X and Samsung Galaxy Fold.
There is also a subsidiary display, which Motorola calls as a Quick View panel for Google Assistance, music controls, and accessing notifications, among others.
In the tweet posted, the company highlighted that it is soon launching Motorola Razr (2019) in India. However, Motorola did not mention any particular date of launch or pricing details in the tweet.

After the global launch of the foldable phone in November, Motorola has hosted a registration page on its Indian website. Interested customers can sign up to receive updates regarding Motorola Razr.
Though the company did not announce any price details of Motorola Razr (2019) for India, it is anticipated to be in line with what was declared in the US. The foldable phone is expected to carry a price tag of $1,499 (approximately Rs. 1,06,000). The price of this phone is significantly lower than that of Samsung Galaxy Fold that would cost $1,980 (approx Rs. 1,40,000). The price of Samsung Galaxy Fold in India is Rs.1,64,999.
What makes the Motorola Razr (2019) to stand different from the other two phones is its 6.2 inches flexible OLED HD+ (876×2142 pixels) display with an aspect ratio of 21:9 that folds perfectly in half. In the folded state, the phone also offers a secondary display of 2.7 inches (600×800 pixels). It is called Quick View display that can be used to control music playback, view notifications, capture selfies, etc.
The Motorola Razr 2019 is paired with 6GB of RAM and has the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC. The phone has a 16-megapixel primary camera sensor with an f/1.7 lens that is helpful to take selfies in the folded state or to be used as a primary sensor in the unfolded state. Moreover, there is a 5-megapixel secondary camera that is available in the display notch.
The fingerprint sensor of the Motorola Razr 2019 is accessible in both the unfolded state and folded state.
Motorola has provided Android 9 Pie, including a secret ‘Retro Razr’ skin. The smartphone does not offer any slot for the SIM card, and it supports cellular networks via eSIM cards. Besides, there are connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G LTE, a USB Type-C port, and Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS.
Additionally, the Razr (2019) carries a 2,510mAh battery that can support 15W fast charging. The measurement of the phone is 72x172x6.9mm in the unfolded state and 72x94x14mm in the folded. It weighs just 205 grams.
