With slowly and steadily news rolling out of companies releasing the Oreo Update for their smartphone models, Nokia 6 and Nokia 7 Plus are the latest addition to the list.
Recently Nokia 6 and Nokia 7 have started receiving Android 8.1 Oreo update in India over-the-air (OTA). Well, Nokia seems to be on a roll of getting its reputation back in India. It has also started the rollout of Android 8.0 Oreo update for its Nokia 3 model, this Wednesday.
It has yet not been said in an official statement by the HMD Global, the Nokia licensee, about the updates of Nokia 6 and Nokia 7 plus but the models have started receiving the update notification.
Along with the Android 8.1 update and another upgrade, Nokia is rolling out April Android Security update as well. Considering the recent launch of Nokia 6 only a week back, this could be the fastest OS upgrade Nokia may have brought. Similarly, it is evident that Nokia is not going to leave the race as it is opening the pre-booking of Nokia 7 Plus on April 20, which too will be upgraded to Android Oreo 8.1 as soon as it hits the market.
Nokia has tied up with Amazon to exclusively launch Nokia 7 Plus. Besides, only select Nokia stores would be selling the handset in India, which is priced at Rs 25,999.
It is expected that Nokia 7 Plus would be in line with Nokia 7 with a couple of new features and a few improvements.
Since Nokia 7 was launched in China with 4GB and 6GB RAM variants, the similar pitch would be made in India too, for Nokia 7 Plus. The new Nokia smartphone may have Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset in an Octa-core processor that offers speed of 2.2GHz. A 5.2inch display will have Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and will offer full HD IPS LCD reception.
