OnePlus is planning to launch three smartphones instead of two in 2020, of which one is reportedly rumored as OnePlus 8 Lite. The previous month we saw some leak-based Computer-Aided Design of the phone. And now, we just got some more live shots that surfaced on the internet showing the front and back of the OnePlus 8 Lite dummy piece.
The photos show the rear side of the mobile, which reportedly has triple rear cameras instead of dual rear cameras. We don’t have much information on the mobile yet as the launch date is far away.
The new images are available via Slashleaks, which shows a whole set of phones stacked in a plastic container in two rows. One of them is visible with the OnePlus logo on its back panel and triple rear cameras. These phones could be concepts or dummy models that were created during the designing process. The blue color phone with the OnePlus logo and the triple camera module looks similar to the one that was leaked last month on Onleaks except for the one that the render has a dual rear camera module.
The photos are not of excellent clarity, but we can still make out some details about the back. The flash is on the right side of the camera module on the dummy unit. The phone on the left in the picture shows a wide notch, and the display is possibly an older model of OnePlus as OnePlus 8 Lite is rumored to have a hole-punch display. OnePlus has since moved away from that type of display. Since then, Onleaks has modified its design by including a triple rear camera module.
As for specs, some say that the phone would be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000 chipset, which is its flagship 5G SoC, as announced by the company. However, considering it as the Lite version of the three mobiles that are to be released this year, this could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765 or Snapdragon 765G SoC, which also has 5G modem integrated with it. We could not find any fingerprint sensor on the dummy model. This leads us to the conclusion that there could be an in-display fingerprint sensor under the AMOLED panel. The aspect ratio is expected to be 20:9, an FHD+ resolution, and a 90Hz refresh rate.
The cameras could be something like a 48 or 64 MP sensor that is followed by a wide-angle camera and maybe a sensor for depth calculation. Reports also indicate that the phone may have an official IP53 rating dor water resistance and have a 4000 mAh battery with fast charging support up to 30W. The price of the mobile could be set in between $431(approx. Rs. 30,700) and $473(approx. Rs. 33700).
Besides this, OnePlus is also planning to launch its ‘Pro’ model and a standard model like the last year’s OnePlus seven series. The OnePlus 8 Pro was allegedly seen in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology(MIIT) website in China, indicating the dual-mode 5G connectivity.
