Chinese smartphone manufacturers always launch special edition variants of their phones in the domestic market. The special edition variants provide better hardware specifications or a transparent back; most of them offer a little different design or color. The recently launched Vivo iQOO Z1 also came in a special edition One Piece variant with bright yellow color and a skull and bones logo from the famous anime. OPPO is also popular in launching special edition variants of its smartphones. Last year, in China, the company released a Gundam Edition for the Reno Ace. As per the recent post on Weibo, the company is coming with a limited-edition Neon Genesis Evangelion edition of the OPPO Ace2 with some same themed accessories.
From 1st June, OPPO will provide 10,000 units of the OPPO Ace2’s special edition, i.e., Neon Genesis Evangelion model. The users can do pre-orders from the Chinese eCommerce platform, i.e., JD.com, in CNY 4,399 (~$615).
The user will get a purple Ace2 with neon green accents on the back at the same price. The device will come with Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 865 chip, 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage, a 90Hz high refresh display, and a 4,000mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging. The user will also get a special edition case, charger or cable, wired earphones, and a special cylindrical box. The special edition comes with some accessories such as the Enco W31 TWS earbuds, the OPPO Watch, and a wireless charger.
The limited-edition device will also make additions in software such as wallpapers and themes. The custom themes will be available to other OPPO users through the company’s theme store, but it has only 1,000 copies for the first time.
