There is some good news for OnePlus 5 and 5T users. OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T will receive their OS updates soon since it has already been rolled out. OxygenOS Open Beta 19 update (for OnePlus 5) and the Open Beta 17 update (for OnePlus 5T) have been rolled out and will offer Android September security patch and a few other changes to the devices.
OnePlus recently rolled out the updates and users who are on the beta version of the update will soon be receiving update notification via OTA. Some users might complain that the update isn’t a significant one, but it is good to see the company pushing out timely security patches to its previous devices and still working on updates for their latest flagship OnePlus 6.
OnePlus Switch app includes the manual connection for OnePlus 5/5T is a handy feature if you own an older OnePlus device and are planning to switch to a new one.
The beta updates are usually pretty stable most of the times, but there might be unknown bugs which are fixed by the official release. Also, if developers find any bugs in the beta versions, they can report to the company’s bug report forum or to the OnePlus Community app.
