OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro were launched last month with some stunning hardware and software features. They both feature Android 10 based Oxygen OS 10.5 firmware update out of the box. The OnePlus 8 Pro, in particular, features a stunning 120 Hz screen refresh rate on a QHD+ display. But, these features come at a price. Recently, a number of users have been seen reporting screen issues like green tint, a black crush, an even darker bar on the screen.
As a measure to solve these issues, the manufacturer released OxygenOS 10.5.5 software update for OnePlus 8 Pro. However, the update did not fix all screen issues with 8 Pro, so the manufacturer again released a new update for the device. Oxygen OS 10.5.6 is released as the update to the last 10.5.5 update for 8 Pro that may fix the issues that we are encountering.
Some users reported that there are no fixes listed for screen issues in the Oxygen OS 10.5.6 update log. And, some users say that the update has a possible fix; but that update fixes the issue partially(mostly it fixes the green tint). After installing the update, when you turn DC dimming ON, the green tint(that was shown previously) doesn’t show up now. While, with DC dimming OFF, you can still see some green tint, but it looks much better than before. Similarly, we can hope for a new update for the black crush and black bar.
The update brought us other improvements that include a major camera upgrade that has refined dirt detection capability with which we can get shoot the pictures with more accuracy. It also enhanced the camera’s shooting experience with the selfie cam. On the whole, we can say that the company has improved the OnePlus 8 Pro camera stability. Network & Communication stability has also been improved further.

On the other hand, the earlier OxygenOS 10.5.5 update brought system updates like display effects optimization. Furthermore, the update for OnePlus 8 Pro included optimized touch sensitivity on the screen edges. Also, in more regions/countries, the network got a huge boost for WiFi and mobile data stability along with support for VoWiFi.
The 8 Pro’s update delivers at least a partial fix for the so-called “green-tint” complaints.

You can check for the new update on your devices, and if you did not receive any update yet then, you can download from the links provided below and sideload it later to install the update on your device.
If you can’t find the OTA update automatically, you can always navigate to Settings >> System Updates >> Check for OTA updates. If you see the OTA update, then the updates are to be downloaded and installed on your device.
If you can’t find any update, check the OS version of your OnePlus Phone from Settings >> About Phone. If you do not have the latest version installed on your device, check for the latest version from below stock firmware zip and install it via the Local upgrade method.
