After Counterpoint research reported that Realme has shipped over 10 million smartphones in the third quarter of 2019, the brand came up with a statement that they have managed to sell half of that figure in just one month. They announced the whopping figure of 5.2 million units of smartphones that have been sold in this festive season which started from 30th September and ended on 21st October in India.
The Counterpoint report also stated that Realme, which just came a year ago, has now placed itself around the fourth position in the Indian top smartphone brands ranking in the Q3 2019. They also secured the third position in September in this ranking.
Globally, they have managed to gain the seventh ranking in the top smartphone brands just behind Xiaomi which is ranked in the fifth position.
All of these achievements and such mega shipment numbers were possible only after they offered various discounts and attractive deals and thus enhancing their sales and profit.
They also completely dominated the smartphone sales in Flipkart, becoming the top brand in the entire platform ranking. Phones like Realme C2, Realme 3i and Realme 5 were among the most popular ones who were completely sold out. It was also reported that Realme 5 phone with a quad-camera was sold out completely within 30 minutes of opening its flash sales on Flipkart in August.
“We are delighted to once again emerge as the no. 1 preferred choice on Flipkart during festive days. Our 5.2 million smartphone sales figure is an actual and credible sell-out data which is different from the usual sell-in numbers, which the other brands have been promoting. Realme offers the most blockbuster products which are high on features, style, and performance and is available across price segments,” Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth said.
