Redmi 9 from Xiaomi is in line after the launch of Redmi 8 in India in October. The launch of this successor phone might be in the first quarter of 2020. The next Xiaomi’s phone is said to pack the MediaTek G70 SoC paired with at least 4GB of RAM.
A fresh leak hints that the Redmi 9 will have a slightly wider profile in comparison with its predecessor. All the other details regarding its internal hardware, including camera and battery capacity, endure under the covers.
According to a report by 91Mobiles, the Redmi 9 will be available with the MediaTek Helio G70 SoC, which is yet to be announced officially. This is the first time we have come across mentioning this particular SoC.
But going by the naming convention, it seems that the Helio G70 will be placed below the Helio G90 and Helio G90T in MediaTek’s portfolio. Like these, the SoC would be gaming focussed. So, users can expect much better than normal performance in mobile games.
The MediaTek G70 SoC carried by the Redmi 9 would be paired with at least 64GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM. Yet, other variants of the phone with different storage and RAM configurations are also said to be in line.
But as of now, no details about the camera as well as hardware have surfaced online. However, at least two rear cameras on the phone are certain, as its predecessor also packs a dual rear camera.
Redmi 9 is said to be featured with a 6.6 inches display with a waterdrop notch at the top. Furthermore, the dimensions of the forthcoming Xiaomi phone are rumored to be larger than that of its predecessor Redmi 8. The Redmi 9 is rumored to launch in Q1 of 2020 in China and is anticipated to make its presence in India soon after that.
