Samsung is launching the W20 5G that is its second foldable phone model from the W-series this month in China. This teaser concedes with the timing of the release of Motorola Razr 2019 which is also a foldable type of phone.
Samsung has recently unveiled a foldable flip phone factor at the Samsung Developer Conference. And with these events, it is very likely that they are all set on releasing a new smartphone. There have been some rumors that Samsung might be releasing two folding devices of which one of them will have a function of being able to collapse into a square, bringing about a new dynamic change in the mobile industry.
Furthermore, through a post in Weibo by China Telecom, it has been revealed that Samsung is preparing to debut its new folding phone. The post is showcasing a teaser image of the upcoming mobile with a folding clamshell design and W20 5G being displayed on top of it. It can be also interpreted through the image as emanating lights could be recognized from both sides where the screens should be, revealing that there might be a full-screen display rather than the combination of the keypad and the screen. And the new system will also be supporting the 5G network.
This could rival the Motorola Razr 2019, a clamshell foldable smartphone which is set to release on November 13. However, the availability of these two phones will remain exclusive for certain nations only for now. Moto Razr 2019 will remain US-based after its launch whereas Samsung’s W20 5G will exclusively be in China only.
With both the Tech Giants clashing on releasing the “first” clamshell device, who will be able to get an upper hand on this? Stay tuned for more on this.
