Mi Box S is a stylish gadget that can immediately enhance the normal TV into a smart TV. The compact Android TV box from the Chinese electronics brand can play the 4K HDR content to 60fps by doubling as a Chromecast receiver. Now, the device is getting the stable Android 9 Pie update, which will roll out in batches and also more tempting to the users.
The Mi Box S got the first public beta of Android Pie in November 2019, which officially brings the Amazon Prime Video. After that, Xiaomi pushed some more beta builds, and then they decided to note the third beta, i.e., build 2231 as the stable Android 9 Pie update in January 2020. But, the company has to stop the rollout of the update as many users reported about the several bugs.
Earlier this month, Xiaomi continues the beta testing after a short pause. After the three continuous beta builds now, the OEM is to re-release the stable Android Pie update in the form of build 2604. It will come in 625MB size, and this OTA update will be available for the non-beta participants also. The changelog is below:

Xiaomi has to publish the updated kernel source code like this update in their GitHub repository. The firmware package of the Mi Box S (code-name: oneday) is not fit with the original Mi Box, which is also named Mi Box 3 (code-name: once), and it is still running on Android Oreo.
