Stadia cloud gaming service from Google is launching its last batch of games for the year 2019. The games include Borderlands 3 and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Earlier, this Google game streaming platform broke a bunch of promises.
The Verge reported that Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is the first game to offer Google’s promised Stream Connect feature where the players can see their teammate’s screen so that they can coordinate. You can see it in the below-shared screenshot and also at the end of the trailer.
However, regarding the Borderlands 3 on Stadia, the developer Gearbox Software says that you are getting a version with content and bug fixes dating back to October. The company also states, “We aim to achieve feature parity for all versions of Borderlands 3 early in 2020.” There is an unconfirmed rumor that the game runs at 30 fps but not 60 fps.
Initially, Google has introduced Stadia with just 12 games, but the company has almost doubled that number to 22 games on the eve of the launch. Only four games were left for this year. Borderlands, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and Dragon Ball were three of them, and Google released Darksiders Genesis on December 5th.
Google has also confirmed four games for 2020. They are Cyberpunk 2077, Doom Eternal, Gods and Monsters, and Watch Dogs: Legion. None of these have confirmed release dates for Stadia.
You can see the details about the three games in Google’s blog post.
Besides, Stadia Founder’s Edition users are getting a holiday surprise with an extra Buddy Pass. This pass can be gifted to a family member or a friend to test out Stadia for themselves.
The Buddy Pass gives a friend, free use of the Pro service for three months.
It is the second Buddy Pass that Google is giving its users for the holidays and as a part of its marketing campaign to promote Stadia.
As per the report, the user should activate Buddy Pass within three months of being gifted. Once it expires, the user has to pay $9.99/month for Stadia Pro unless the subscription is cancelled.
