Following months of beta testing in its home region of South Korea and Europe, LG released the Android 8.0 Oreo upgrade for its LG V30 and V30+ around back in December last year. However, it wasn’t until the month of May the carrier-locked variants in the United States began receiving the software upgrade, and users could not be more excited. But for LG V30 and V30+ consumers with T-Mobile, it all had been put on hold when the Android Oreo upgrade was halted under a week after it started rolling out on May 7.
Together with the month nearly coming to an end, T-Mobile has declared the Android 8.0 upgrade rollout on May 29, while still keeping the build number H93220h exactly the same as before.
This is most likely to reduce the amount of software compatibility issues that were reported before the Oreo upgrade has been stopped. Furthermore, T-Mobile states that the software update is incrementally rolling out, and also to prevent network congestion, the upgrades are put on a scheduled daily limitation.
If you aren’t able to see that the software update notification appear on your device, T-Mobile recommends checking for it the following day or after July 3. To manually check for update in your LG V30 and V30+, head over to About Phone –> Update Center –> System upgrades –> Check for update.
