During the 10th Anniversary celebration stream in October 2019, Riot Games announced many new games are going to release soon. One of the surprises they gave on the live stream was Project A, a smart shooting game. This project is going to be a Riot’s take on the shooting genre. The game will come in late 2020 but, many images and videos of Project A have been leaked. IGN also releases footage of the gameplay, and the Riot Games also confirmed their upcoming tactical shooter, which will be named as Valorant.
Valorant is the first shooting game which is developed by the Riot Games. It is a tactical shooter that looks like a combination of CS: GO (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive) and Overwatch at first glance. Though, Valorant is an FPS with MOBA (Multiplayer online battle arena) elements.
The Valorant will be a classic 5v5 game, and it will be free for players to play. The players will pick up from a wide variety of characters called agents; all boasting has different abilities and traits. These abilities will make every agent unique and fit for different situations in the game. Similarly to CS: GO, the players will start every game with a fixed amount of money, and depending on the result of each round, the player might get more money.
One team will play the role of attacking, i.e., plant the bomb, and the other team will play the role of defending, i.e., defuse the bomb or make the enemy not to put the bomb. The players can buy a huge variety of guns, and all of the guns provide unique things. Besides using guns, the players can use their abilities to disturb the opponents in different ways. The team who wins the most of the rounds that team only wins the entire game.
Only some of the details related to the Valorant are revealed but, players are expecting that it will come pretty soon. Recently, the footage of the game was released from the alpha stage. So, still, there is some of the polishing remaining. Valorant will drop for open beta or alpha phase in summers of 2020, but the exact date still didn’t come yet.
