Portal, Facebook’s video calling device will be now able to work with the WhatsApp account. The users can now make video calls to family, friends and can further have access to features like “Story Time” even if they do not have any facebook account.
The Story Time features will let you bring kid’s stories to life with its Augmented Reality (AR) effects.
On Tuesday, Facebook, in a statement said: “We are adding new versions of classic stories, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and Little Red Riding Hood, also including new tales from Otto, Pete the Cat, and Llama Llama.“

The Portal’s update also includes some new features for the Portal TV. Firstly, Mic Drop allows you to sing along with popular song clips and also perform them on an AR during the video call. Secondly, the Photo Booth feature added to Portal TV will let you take selfie snaps and videos, add effects to them, and then share it among the people on your Messenger from TV.
Facebook said, “You can also share a video message to your friends and family at the moment if they are unable to take your call. You can further share your photos from Superframe feed through Messenger so that your buddies can see what you see and join the fun.“
Facebook is also adding access to thousands of movies and shows via its new streaming partner on portal TV, which includes Amazon Prime in the UK, France, Canada, and the US. It also includes Sling TV and FandangoNOW that were added recently in the US.
Users can also now Livestream from Portal directly to their Facebook profile via Facebook Live.
According to supply chain sources, Facebook’s Portal sales are very low, and that led the company to add new features, which may give customers a reason to buy.
