Vivo seems to be working on a new 5G phone in the pipeline, which would support 55W fast charging technology. A listing on the China Compulsory Certificate 3C database certainly hints that the new phone from Vivo is coming into existence.
The news surfaced online days after a smartphone bearing model number V1950A found on the Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center (TENAA) of China. It was believed to debut as the Vivo Nex 3 5G, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. The smartphone thought to sport a 64-megapixel primary rear camera sensor and a 16-megapixel selfie camera sensor.
As per the listing on the 3C database, the unknown Vivo phone carries model number V1955A. The listing specifies that the phone bundled with a 55W charger with model number V5550L0A0-CN.
According to the existing portfolio of the Vivo, the company may launch the new model under its iQoo sub-brand. The Vivo iQoo Neo 855 already comes with fast charging support of 33W. The handset would also offer some new gaming experiences as the gamers are the target audience for the iQoo variant.
The 3C listing of this phone does not reveal any of its key specifications. Moreover, the launch details of this new offering are yet to surface.
As per the mention on the listing, the Vivo smartphone received the latest certification from the authority on January 15. It suggests that the new smartphone may arrive sometime shortly. It is likely to get official in the first quarter or after the debut of the Nex 3 5G that reportedly spotted on TENAA with model number V1950A, last week.
Playfuldroid.com, a blog focussed on Android, was the first to report about the new Vivo phone carrying model number V1955A. However, there is no response from the company to a query asking for the development of the new phone.
