India made a record by exchanging one-fifth of the net messages.
WhatsApp is one of the mostly used communication app on all over the planet and similarly n number of messages and media exchanges are done on the daily basis. On New Year’s eve WhatsApp broke its own record. WhatsApp has said that users exchanged over 100 billion messages on the New Year’s eve. And from that amount 20 billion messages were shared by Indian users. Similarly, out of 100 billion+ messages 12 billion were in the form of images only.
In one of the press release WhatsApp wrote that over 100 billion messages were shared globally from December 31 till midnight of New Year’s Eve. WhatsApp started its services ten years ago and this is the highest number of messages exchanged in a single day ever hence, it is a record-breaking volume. On New Year’s Eve 100 billion+ messages were shared and out of that 12 billion were images.
On a daily basis, net global volume of message exchange is impressive the contribution of Indians is also remarkable. According to WhatsApp Indian users shared over 20 billion of messages on New Year’s Eve, which was nearly one-fifth of the total number of messages exchanged globally. It is not surprising at all, as largest share of WhatsApp users are Indian and the number is still increasing day by day. The Facebook-owned company also added that text-messaging is the most popular WhatsApp feature, and after that status, picture messaging, calling and voice notes are in the same order.
