Xiaomi is getting itself ready to release the next major MIUI update MIUI 12 build based on Android 10. The update is set to release on April 27, 2020. The update is expected to bring a couple of changes to the User Interface(UI) as well as introduce new features to all the eligible devices.
Coming to eligible devices, here is a device from the lists doing rounds on the internet that is expected to line up for an MIUI 12 update later this year. Not just this, an official Xiaomi app exists only for this purpose, for you don’t have to keep guessing always.
On these lists is the Xiaomi Mi 8, a flagship device that has now been succeeded twice, and the latest one brings forth the Mi 10 series. Mi 8 came with Android Oreo at the time of release, and it’s status Android 10 update for Mi 8 is just a question of when.
In early January, the device got the official Android 10 update, but the rollout was limited only to some units for various reasons. After a couple of weeks, the company commenced the implementation of the software to a wide range.
Besides the pros of MIUI 11 and Android 10, the update also released the security patch level of December 2019. This is not the latest patch level at that period, but given the update tagged along with the latest OS, many users didn’t mind the older patch.
Today, a new Mi 8 Android 10 build is now up, and this time the security patch level is the latest available – April 2020. That’s some good stuff from Xiaomi as the phone has been used for around two years now.
Moreover, the update also brings App lock support to all apps, revamps the start page, and optimizes some features to perform better than before, so be sure to get the firmware once the OTA shows up on your device.
