Last week, YouTube added many new features to its app with the hope of making it more convenient and more comfortable to use. The most exceptional addition was that viewers can now use voice search while casting the YouTube app to their smart TV.
The new function is very much straightforward, and by pressing the Cast button. A microphone icon will appear that allows users to give voice commands, which is to be issued to the TV through the user’s phone.
Ere to this update, using “voice search” on a TV via an Android mobile was not quite as easy. Now, it has been simplified, and it requires just the click of a button. This is an appreciated addition to the app, and it is something that seemingly should have been added a while ago.
Apart from the voice search upgrade, users can also see a new “Who’s Watching” feature. This feature allows viewers to switch between different accounts that are linked to their device. So, everyone in the family will be able to access their content easily.
There is also an upgraded navigation menu on the left side of the screen, which displays your favorite pages.
At last now, YouTube has expanded its support for the TV devices. The YouTube app on Fire TV can now support Alexa’s voice control, and HDR now runs on YouTube for the PS4 and PS4 Pro.
