Earlier this year, Google has introduced a new smart reply feature for text messages for Project Fi users. The feature, which made its entry in the Google Allo app, makes use of artificial intelligence to provides quick reply suggestions after analyzing incoming messages. The smart reply feature was also expanded to Google inbox and Gmail; Google is now developing a new API to bring this feature to all third-party chat applications.
Now, Google has introduced a new app called Reply, which enables the smart replies to feature to all third-party apps. The app provides relevant responses in all third-party messaging apps, including Hangouts, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Skype, etc which are currently in beta version.
The main advantage of smart replies which made available in the notifications are allowing users to quickly send a reply when they don’t have the type to stop and type. In addition to this facility, the Reply app also has automated features like auto-DND, which alerting that the users are not available to reply if the user is driving/cycling and sends automatic replies to incoming messages.
After the installation, users have to go through a simple but long setup process, during which the app clarifies its features and allows users to link their Google accounts for better respond recommendations. The app also regards location access which allows it to provide accurate replies while the user is busy or commuting. After this setup process, users will be capable to see bubbles which have potential automated responses in messaging notifications. Doing quick tap on the bubble instantly sends the selected message.
All the features don’t seem to work since the app is currently in closed beta. We were unable to set up home and work addresses in our testing. Additionally, some of the features are currently incapable. Download Google Reply app from APK Mirror.
