On Tuesday, a senior official of Pentagon stated that the U.S. Military Cloud Computing project would not get delayed due to the lawsuit filed by Amazon.

Amazon has filed a lawsuit challenging the $ 10 billion cloud computing contract awarded to Microsoft.

Amazon has claimed that President Donald Trump exploited the power of his office to reject this large contract to the company in October.

Ellen Lord, the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, said, “We will deal with Amazon’s legal actions. I cannot comment on those right now. But I will tell you we are moving right now forward with the JEDI contract.”

The Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure program, popularly known as JEDI, is a ten years contract. This project will examine the information shared among all military branches in a system supported by artificial intelligence.

Ellen Lord also said that they would start this event with Microsoft on Wednesday.
Amazon is considered as the lead contender for providing cloud computing technology to JEDI. AWS is dominating the arena of cloud computing, and the company is also offering its classified servers for other government organizations, such as the CIA.

According to the documents released on Monday, Jeffrey P. Bezos, CEO of Amazon, claimed “improper pressure from President Donald J. Trump, who made repeated public and behind-the-scenes attacks to steer the JEDI contract away from AWS to harm his perceived political enemy.”

The mistakes of Pentagon in the contract were “hard to understand and impossible to assess” when isolated from Trump’s “repeatedly expressed determination to, in the words of the president himself, ‘screw Amazon.'”

As Bezos, who also owns Washington Post, is frequently targeted by the U.S President, Trump.

The bid objection filed in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims requests for the revaluation of the JEDI bids, and to take a new decision on the contract.
