Call Of Duty Modern Warfare is one of the most favorite shooter games developed by Infinity Ward Studios. It, published by Activision, is the 16th version of the Call Of Duty franchise.
This version also serves as the reboot of the most loved and expected, Modern Warfare sub-series of Call of Duty.
When first launched on October 25, 2019, on PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox, the game raised a huge hype among the players and made a massive number of sales.
Call Of Duty generated more than $600 Million in just the first three days of sales after its release. And since then, it has sold over 6 million copies.
Recently, a much expected Battle-Royale mode to be added to COD: MW leaked. The codename of it was ‘Warzone.’ Its first leak was an in-game audio file, followed by a screenshot. And then later it has progressed into a full-blown gameplay video of Captain Price. One of the much-loved video game characters, to instruct the player in the ‘Firing Range’ mode of the game regarding the features of Warzone.
Firstly, the audio of Cpt. Price’s voice was leaked by a Twitter account, by the handle of TheGamingRevolutionYT. The account is suspended as of now. But, the man loved by all, Cpt. Price heard saying, “Plunder can be used at the Supply station to purchase killstreaks and other special items. Go get to the Supply Station.”
The video was just a few seconds long, but it hinted at a new mode or feature hitting the Call Of Duty Modern Warfare.
Secondly, the screenshot is again from the same person. It has cleared all the doubts about the ‘NewSupply Station’ that was mentioned by Cpt.Price in the earlier leaked audio clip.
Till now, it was proposed that the players in the Warzone can scavenge for the Plunder that is potentially a form of in-game currency, which is exclusive to the Warzone mode. The looted Plunder can be exchanged for many items at the supply station. This is an aid for the player’s struggle towards victory.
In the screenshot, we can see the gas mask providing a circle defense. It might indicate immunity to Hp-consuming gas outside the play area or an ever-shrinking safe zone.
Some other items and killstreaks are seen to include staple features of CoD, such as UAV, Shield Turret. However, one thing that catches all attention is the ‘Squad Buyback’ option that is listed at $4,500. It hints that people can respawn upon death just like legends can be respawned by teammates after collecting their banner using a respawn beacon. It is anticipated that the price of the item is variable, and it may increase as the match progresses towards the endgame.
Again a video is found on YouTube published by some unknown person. All the dots are connected with this video, and now we all can foresee what is going to come shortly. There is a mixed response from the players, and these leaks are considered for a pro rather than a beginner.
In this leaked video, a player is guided through the gameplay mechanics of the battle-royale. Here we can hear Cpt. Price’s voice clearly. The player proceeds to loot the map as instructed by the captain in the game.
Some players of the Call Of Duty Modern Warfare community confirm glitching from the Main Menu of the game into the ‘Firing Range.’ Somehow unknowingly, they triggered the hidden tutorial of Warzone and thus is the resulting video that we are able to see.
However, from the Call Of Duty Modern Warfare developer team, there is no official response to the leaks. But, the sudden ban on @TheGamingRevolutionYT Twitter handle has raised the suspicion on the probability of the leaks being real.
The authenticity of the leak is yet to be fully fortified, but for the time being, we can now say CoD: MW will be introduced soon with a battle-royale mode. But it is still not known when we will get a date on Infinity Ward releasing the update with the battle-royale.
Warzone is also featuring the once and ever infamous loot boxes called supply crates, weaponry systems, and a tiered armor. As mentioned earlier, an in-game currency called Plunder.
