The Essential Phone was one of the Very Few devices Which Were blessed with the Android P Developer Preview. Devices running Android P can now be upgraded from the older Developer Preview to the most recent Beta.
The third Android P Developer Preview began rolling out into Pixel devices today with the final APIs, SDK, and Play Store. Now within less than 24 hours, Essential has declared that this Android P will be making its way into their devices with a handful of bug fixes.
This upgrade includes the June security patch, the most recent Android P must offer (which should include the final Android P APIs), improved adaptive brightness, and bug fixes. Early reports claim the broken WiFi hotspot issue has been fixed, also fixed Facebook-related programs like Instagram along with Messenger. If you’re still on Oreo, you need to sideload the Android P and If your devices is running Android P beta 1 you can download the OTA and update the device via settings.
