Nest Cam IQ Indoor attains Google assistant support. The smart surveillance cam will now respond to your commands much the same way the Google Home does, which means you will be able to ask it about the weather, control other Nest products and set events in your calendar, including the smart thermostat that start it all. It is explained in the blog by the Alphabet-owned home automation company.
Before this announcement, Nest said that it will be part of Google again. However, it shows there no real correlation between the two, given how the update was originally announced last year itself when the company launched the outdoor version of the device alongside home security system and a new video doorbell. It’s worth noting here that the Google Assistant update will only affect the indoor version of the camera and not the outdoor model. The subscription service also offers you the Nest Cam smarter alerts and 24/7 continuous video recording.
The company also announced a couple of new features for its smart cam along with the addition of Google Assistant is definitely the highlight of Nest’s announcements for today. In addition to that, there is a new payment tier to Nest Aware.
The company declares that adding $5 for five days option and $10 for ten days was the minimum available option until now. The company now declares that adding $5 for five days option will be available there. In addition, there is also a new $30 plan which is valid for 30 days.
Nest also declares that its camera will be able to separate human beings and animals from nonliving objects and plants in ‘Activity Zones’ that can be deputed areas. The Nest company also says that “Nest aware will also be able to blend duplicate familiar faces of the same person from random photo collections of you“.
