Usually, all the smartphone manufacturers roll out the updates in a staged manner. They firstly push the update to only limited users, and then after extensive monitor of the first batch, if there are no issues, they will then make a wider rollout.
In January, Xiaomi started to roll out Android 10 updates globally. The update arrived with MIUI 11.0.1.0.QEAMIXM build number with December 2019 security patches.
Again at the end of the same month, a new build of Android 10 is available for Mi 8 with MIUI 11.0.3.0.QEAMIXM build number. And the latest update bundles January 2020 security patch. As per the company, it suspended the first Android 10 build (v11.0.1.0) due to bugs.
Following its re-release, the update was under close monitoring by Xiaomi developers, further looking to establish any significant issues before making it widely available.
Seemingly, there were no major issues in the firmware, and Xiaomi decided that every other Mi 8 user across the globe should get a taste of Android 10. And indeed, the OS has rolled out over the air.
