Android Pie was recently announced and was available exclusively on Pixel devices and Essential phones. It was also speculated that it would be available on other devices soon. Now news says that its source code has been made available on AOSP and as a consequence, the developer community has been working hard on building the latest release for their specific devices. The ports of the latest Android version have made their way to devices like the Motorola Moto G and OnePlus One.
Here is a list of the Android smartphones and tablets that will/ have received an unofficial Android 9 Pie custom ROM.
Android 9 Pie Features
- Gesture Navigation – It removes the recent apps button and replaces the original home button with a pill that slides up to show recent apps, slide right to switch between apps
- Revamped recent apps – The old vertical list has been replaced with a horizontal card list
- Revamped user interface – It has brought a fresh coat of paint throughout the UI
- Digital Wellbeing – It is an initiative by Google that helps efficiently utilize the time spent on smartphones
- App Actions and Slices API – The app actions API allows apps to show predictive actions and the slices API allows apps to show a part of the UI inside another app
- Adaptive Battery – Android limits the power consumption of apps that are not used frequently by the user
