Back in September 2018, Xiaomi launched Mi 8 Pro. While its launch, the device came along with MIUI 10 based on Android v8.1 (Oreo). Xiaomi does not have any frequency for the Global Stable ROM update, but, every month it gets updated.
To recall, Xiaomi has started rolling out either Beta or stable MIUI 11 updates to both of its Redmi and Mi devices back in October 2019. MIUI 11, when rolled out for Mi 8 Pro, was not based on Android 10. But, in February 2020, Mi 8 Pro started receiving an Android 10 update.
The initial letter of the build number will represent the Android version. So, if the build number starts with P, then it is Android 9 Pie. And if the build number is Q, then it is Android 10. Some of the versions are even based on Android Oreo.
MIUI 11 brought along new features like Horizon Light and animated AOD for supported devices, dynamic sound system, Mi Work, new font, and Mi-Go app suites, and some other changes to the device.
In November 2019, Xiaomi has rolled out MIUI 11 for Mi 8 Pro. But since usual, the update was OTA, and in a staged manner, the device would receive them.
The MIUI 11 update is very complex to track due to its confusing naming conventions of the update. There are several updates across regions.
