The new season is set to hit the systems on February 4, and a live stream video was made available on YouTube about this season. The video shows the crew behind the game, and it hints at how the next season will feast us with the game developments. In the short live stream on the official Apex Legends Game channel Executive Producer Drew McCoy, Game Director Chad Grenier, spoke about how the game’s history and the development the game has gone through until now. The video also hints on what the game has become and what to expect in the coming future.
What to Expect in Apex Legends Season 4
Entering into the fourth season of the game, we have a lot to expect. New legends, new weaponry, the competitive mode of Apex, updates to Ranked, a brand new battle-pass, and whatnot. The latest season appears to be powered with exquisite content for the best possible gameplay experience, filled with mayhem and thrill as the gamers make their way to be the last man standing. The Apex Legends Season 4 is named as – “Assimilation.”
Of the whole things added/introduced in the game that was teased in the short live stream video, we picked some of the best things to note in Season 4- Assimilation.
A New Champion
Apex Legends initially launched a roster of 8 legends in the game. These legends include Bangalore, Bloodhound, Caustic, Gibraltar, Lifelife, Mirage, Pathfinder, and Wraith. Now, the roster has been updated with three more new legends. The new legends are Wattson the healer, Octane the speed demon, and Crypto the hacker. However, Season 4 will rope in one more legend into the game.
As per the official page, the new legend is a tall and buffed figure. He was described as humble but confident. He utilizes his size, armaments, and brute strength to bruise and batter his enemies. The official page reveals that he is named as- “Forge, the brawler.”
A Brand New Battle Pass
The new Apex Legends battle-pass promises to contain over a hundred exclusive items that consist of Legendary cosmetics like guns and character skins, loading screens, apex packs, music packs, banners, and many more. The name given is Assimilation. The pricing is not yet released but is expected to be out soon.
To start with, Apex Legends had an arsenal of 21 weapons initially, ranging from the potato pistols such as “Mozambique” to over-powered tools of decimation such as the “Kraber.” Now in the latest update, a new sniper-rifle is being added to the game. It is described as a bolt-action sniper rifle. It seems like the new weapon is unlike the semi-automatic Kraber. The developers describe it as a bolt-action rifle that has armor-piercing abilities and has named it the “Sentinel.”
Update to Ranked
The Ranked Series 1 lasted three months, and the Ranked Series 2 lasted four months. This time, in the Apex Legends Season 4. the Apex team Rank Series 3 will last for three months long but decided to split into two parts.
Each of the split will have a soft reset. The first split is played on World’s Edge map, and the second split is played on the OG map and the favorite King’s Canyon. Yes, this will be the return of the ‘King’ as this makes re-entry of King’s Canyon into the competitive Apex Legends map pool.
Respawn will also add another tier on the competitive ladder of the game. This tier would be placed in between Diamond and the Apex Predator. Only the top 500 players will be promoted to Apex Predator rank while rest will be occupying the place of the Master tier, albeit the RP required is staying the same at 10,000 RP.
Anniversary Bonus for All
The game developers are giving away free charms to all the players to express their gratitude. When you log in to Apex Legends Season 4, you will get the free charms added to your profile. The free charms will release with the game update on February 4, 2020.
