Back in February 2019, Xiaomi launched Mi 9 in China. During its launch, the device came along with MIUI 10 Global Stable on Android 9.0 Pie. Xiaomi does not follow any frequency for the Global Stable ROM update, but usually, it gets updated every month.
To recall, Xiaomi rolled out either stable or Beta MIUI 11 updates to its Redmi and Mi devices back in October 2019. MIUI 11 for Mi 9 is based on Android 10.
The starting alphabet of the build number represents its Android version. If the build number starts with P, then it is Android 9 Pie. If the build number is Q, then it is Android 10. Here for this device, all the MIUI 11 versions are based on Android 10 only.
MIUI 11 brought along some new features such as animated AOD and Horizon Light for supported devices, new font, dynamic sound system, Mi Work and Mi-Go app suites, and many other changes.
In November 2019, Xiaomi rolled out MIUI 11 for Xiaomi Mi 9. But as usual, the update is via OTA and received by the devices in a staged manner.
The MIUI 11 update is very complicated to track due to its complicated update naming conventions. There are various updates across different regions.
