LG released LG G2 in 2013, September with 5.2 inches 1080×1920 pixels display. This device is loaded with Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 chipset, Quad-core 2.26 GHz Krait 400 CPU, Adreno 330 GPU with 2GB of RAM. This device is packed with 13 MP primary camera, 2.1 MP front-facing camera with Non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery.
A Bootloader is a code that runs when we turn on your device. This code initiates some hardware and the kernel and ramdisk and gets the boot procedure going. So this procedure is known as Bootloader. A similar method applies to all the Laptops, PC, Smartphones and any such gadget. Each Android OEM producer bolts the bootloader despite the fact that it is an Open Source. So, you cannot install any custom ROM without unlocking the bootloader. So the smartphone manufacturer created a policy that Unlocked Bootloader device will void the warranty. They need you to stay with the Stock ROM.

Steps to Unlock Bootloader on LG G2
- Download and Install ADB drivers on your PC.
- In your device, Enable the USB debugging on your device after enabling ‘Developer Options’ by going to ‘About phone’ and tapping build number 7 times.
- In PC, Open the ADB folder in C: Drive
- In ADB Folder, press “Shift + Right mouse key” and tap on “Open command window here.”
- Now connect your device to the PC using a USB data cable.
- Boot your device into “Fastboot” mode and give the following command
Windows: adb reboot bootloader
Mac: ./adb reboot bootloader
- Execute the following command to unlock the bootloader.
Windows: fastboot oem unlock
Mac: ./fastboot oem unlock
- Done. Your device bootloader is unlocked.
Now: Install TWRP Recovery and Root LG G2

Hi Tejia, I’ve follow your instruction to unblock bootloader. However, I also couldn’t boot my LG G2 into fastboot mode. When I key “adb reboot bootloader”, the cellphone just reboot and went into system.
Could you please advice how I can solve this issue, thank you so much.

Try the key combination.
1) Power off your LG device;
2) Connect your USB cable to your computer, but not your phone.
3) Press and hold the Power and Volume Up keys simultaneously for about 5 to 8 seconds. Now connect the other end of the USB cable to your phone;
Done!

Dear all,
I followed the steps above untill no. 6. I had to type the .\adb …. (told by the power shell). The device did reboot. Then I went on with no. 7 : .\fastboot … Powe shell says: . Nothing happend (Phone, Shell, …).
I have also tried the key combination thing.
Any idea???
