Android 7.1.2 Beta on Nexus 6P: Google has announced Android 7.1.2 Nougat update. This Update is maintenance release which is mainly focused on Fingerprint Scanner Gesture. Fingerprint Gesture feature was available in only available for Google Pixel and then Nexus 5X owners in the first beta update. Now finally Google released this feature for Nexus 6P users. This update is labeled NPG47I build number. This is update is rolling out via OTA to BETA subscribers. If you want to receive an OTA enroll your device in the beta program. However, OTA update may take few weeks to hit your device.

Google is rolling out Android 7.1.2 Nougat update for all its eligible devices that are enrolled in the beta program. This is an incremental maintenance release mainly focused on Fingerprint Scanner Gesture. Now Nexus 6P users can pull down the notification bar with fingerprint gesture. Steps to Install Android 7.1.2 Beta on Nexus 6P

Android 7.1.2 Nougat on Nexus 6P

  1. Download and Install ADB drivers.
  2. Now, download Android 7.1.2 ZIP file.
  3. Move downloaded ZIP file to ADB folder. (C:\adb)
  4. Extract the Zip file in ADB folder.
  5. Now reboot your device into Bootloader Mode. (To do that Press and hold Volume Down + Power buttons)
  6. Connect your device to PC.
  7. In ADB folder, press “Shift + Right mouse key” and click on “Open command window here.”
  8. To ensure your device is connected properly, execute the below command.
    adb devices
  9. Now, Execute the following command to flash the firmware.
  10. Wait until the installation process completes.
  11. Your device will automatically reboot to latest Android 7.1.2.
  12. Done!!!
