Magisk is one of the most popular rooting solutions for Android devices. A recognized XDA developer, topjohnwu developed it. The significant feature of it is the ability to run modifications without making any changes to the system. That is why it is referred to as a “systemless” method of rooting a device. Back in February, Google released the first developer preview for Android 11. A month later, the company released the Android 11 Developer Preview 2.
Now, the developer of Magisk, topjohnwu, released Magisk Canary, which can root the Android 11 developer preview and shared a screenshot on his Twitter handle.
As per the developer, currently, SafetyNet attestation passes, but it is uncertain that what would happen once Google releases full hardware attestation for SafetyNet.
Though this Magisk Canary build has been designed for the Android 11 Developer Preview for Pixel devices, he also mentioned, “Quick update: From initial reports, Pixel 2 Android 11 does not boot with this new release. Will investigate in the future.”
